hi! i recently joined my school's track team but i never run at all and have really low endurance. are there any tips that you can give me to help me improve? :)

  • Interval training - practice sprinting, cross drills etc. at least 2-3x a week to build endurance at high intensity
  • Run long and slow - run at a slower pace for at least 40+ min, which trains your body to use energy stores more efficiently and gradually build distance
  • Strength training - build muscular endurance by lifting every other day. Use lower weight with higher reps to tone, not bulk
  • Eat well - a diet high in complex carbs like wheat bread and oats provides energy needed for distance running
  • Do other cardio exercises like swimming, cycling or elliptical on days you don’t run
  • Practice proper breathing techniques
