Reminder to myself that being on vacation is an opportunity to indulge with more abandon, not an excuse to go batshit off the rails

What are your thoughts on oatmeal? I've read a few places that it's one of those seemingly healthy foods, but it is actually very inflammatory. Any ideas for a replacement?

Oatmeal is the shit, it contains antioxidants that are anti-inflammatory as well as protein, fiber, and complex carbs. You can also try quinoa or muesli, but oats are healthy.

Aloha! So i was wondering if frozen veggies are as good as fresh ones. I'm in college and i find it really easy to buy frozen since i'm on a low budget. Also, can you make green smoothies out of frozen veg and fruits? bye have a nice weekend:)

Frozen is great, they have about the same amount of nutrients as fresh often for a lower price. I usually use frozen fruit for smoothies (mangos, berries, pineapple etc), gives it a nice consistency.

Just committed to a 178 mile relay race that takes over 24 hours to complete that happens in 2 weeks, had to fill in for a last minute drop out. I run a total of 12.7 miles in 3 separate legs. Just needed to share that with a total stranger in order to fully comprehend. Commence freak out.

When you finish you’re going to feel like a boss. You got dis

This might sound like a dumb question... but if I'm trying to slim down my thighs, how high should I set the resistance level when I workout on the elliptical? Thanks for being such an awesome inspiration!

If you’re trying to slim down, use low resistance - high resistance/inclines build muscle, which can have the opposite effect of what you want. Go for other low resistance cardio like distance running and flat cycling too.

Hi! awsome blog girl! One quick question, I´m eating clean since a long time now, and I was wondering, how do I know that the combinations I make are good and not bad? Cause I ain´t no nutricionist LOL. For example, chicken and noodles? bad? I eat noodles cause I run a lot and I´m preparing for a marathon (my first one!) and I wanna loose at least 5kilos before that! (the marathon it´s in august) love u girl!

Hey hey, I’m no nutritionist either. But as long as you’re choosing clean, healthy foods, most combinations you make will be fine. Some examples:

  • Grilled chicken with whole wheat pasta (complex carbs - better than noodles for energy)
  • Vegetables with fish or tofu
  • Brown rice and beans
  • Wheat bread with hummus or peanut butter
  • Yogurt with fruit
Don’t worry about combinations, focus on the parts. Good luck with the marathon and thank yaaa
